The Kansas Polymer Research Center at Pittsburg State University and the Faculty of Technology at the University of Novi Sad, Serbia - with the help of former students, associates, and friends - are organizing an International Symposium Honoring Professor Zoran S. Petrovic, in celebration of his eightieth birthday. This event will take place from April 11 – 12, 2022 in Pittsburg, Kansas at the Tyler Research Center.

Theme and sessions

The theme of the symposium will be “Contemporary Polyurethane Polymeric and Composite Materials” and it will provide an international forum for the communication and discussion of the latest ideas, developments and perspectives of polymer science and technology. A number of prominent polymer scientists are scheduled to present invited lectures. In addition, there will be one or more poster sessions.



Pittsburg State University’s Kansas Polymer Research Center, in partnership with the Faculty of Technology of University of Novi Sad are co-organizing this dual-venue symposium.  The Scientific Committee is made up of: Dr Branka Pilic, Faculty of Technology Novi Sad; Dr Mirjana Jovicic, Faculty of Technology Novi Sad; Dr Ivan Ristic , Faculty of Technology, Novi Sad; Academician Slavko Mentus, SANU Belgrade; Dr Milena Spirkova , UMHC, Praha Czech Republic; Professor Ayse Aroğuz, Istanbul University , Turkey; Dr Clara Silvestre,  National Research Center, Italy; Dr. Mihail Ionescu, Romania; and Dr. Ram Gupta, Pittsburg State University, USA.
The conference will be held simultaneously on both sides of the world: Kansas Polymer Research Center in Pittsburg, KS and SANU in Novi Sad, Serbia.  A poster session will begin the symposium held in Novi Sad at noon (local time). At 3:30 pm in Belgrade (8:30am Pittsburg time) the conference will open in Pittsburg via Zoom. The next four hours will be used for live presentations at each site and covered virtually at the partner site. Participants from Pittsburg and Novi Sad locations will give their talks in an order to be decided by the Organizing Committee.
The duration of the conference (one or two days) will be determined by the number registering to attend.
